We have an Etsy! Http://www.Etsy.com/shop/DerbyGrrlFilms … now it says “1” in stock for all our items. Not true. I just didn’t want to pay a 20 cent listing for each “in stock” item. If someone buys one and it comes down, I’ll have it back up again asap. Plus, You can always e-mail me at:…
Had a crazy derby weekend. Went to Charm City’s open practice on Saturday- they focused on strides, crossovers and overall skating technique. Had a good time, unfortunately though, one of our DCRG meaties ended up breaking her ankle :( She was attempting a turn around stop and was going faster than she usually does when she went into it.
Oh, and like the huge dork that I am, I went up to Holly GoHardly after practice to tell her how awesome she is. Her and Dolly Rocket. Would love to have that kind of talent one day. /gush.
Sunday was a full day with the wifey…met up in the morning and did a trip to BESSS. They are growing so quickly, it’s great! From there, we made the rest of the trip up to Delaware to check out DCRG’s Capital Offenders take on Diamond State. We got to the rink around 3:30 and skated around for the last hour of the open skate there. Took a nap, got foodz, and then went to the bout. I got wrangled into some last minute NSO-ing. I was just doing the jam clock, so I literally pushed a single button the whole time. It was a fun bout..we should be taking the WFTDA assessment in about a month and then I should be able to get some bout time in with the CapOffs :D
We went to the after party, where I met @Chocoatmeal/Lady Lala (yay for Tumblr derby meetings!). Megski and I were just going to have a beer or two, but that changed quickly once Axl Rolls started buying shots haha. The girls of DSRG were awesome on and off the track. We ended up crashing on Trixie Trauma’s couch and rolling back to VA at 7am. Totally worth it.
And nowww, I need to go change my wheels and get some more duct tape. We have our first outdoor practice today and we’re also doing our safety assessment. If we pass, we can start practicing with the league.
An interview that Fracture magazine did last summer with Dolly Rocket of Charm City.
One of my favorite players…I love pivots. I’m just starting out, and I want to learn to be an effective player at every position, but I would be lying if I said that I didn’t have a desire to eventually become an excellent pivot in particular.
